GABF Gold Medal for the Royal Scandal

The Brewers Association awarded us a gold medal at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver, Colorado, this past Saturday afternoon.  We received the award for our Royal Scandal, a classic English Pale Ale.

The gold medal is the most coveted award in the industry, a symbol of brewing excellence, and awarded to a world-class beer that accurately exemplifies the specified style and displays the proper balance of taste, aroma and appearance.  The GABF is the largest commercial brewing competition in the world. First held in 1982, the festival grows annually. This year’s 4,338 entries from 666 breweries matched the largest field of entries ever.

We were shocked when hearing "Royal Scandal" announced as a gold medal winner.  Receiving the medal in year one of operations is truly unbelievable.  Words cannot express our excitement.  What a weekend!
